stable extra revenue along corridor

One of the interesting things about something new is that the mindset of potential lags in relation to possibility.  Since the corridor(s) of the high speed rail line shall be central in our state of California, we should also be aware of the new Chevy Volt and the emerging lithium ion battery industry which is growing within our borders, and the necessity of charging station infrastructure needed to extend the range of our electric and hybrid new cars.  We could place charging stations along highway 99 near the high speed train line and get revenue from motorists as they feed off of the main feeder lines of the high speed rail.  Cables could run to Interstate 5 near the Tehachapi  pass, Buttonwillow, and near the Tracy triangle.  This could reduce the long range cost curve for the rail line and bring value to this project as we get ready for charging station infrastructure.  Energizing the track only in front of the train's location could leave unused un energized sections, especially at night, to store charge in charging stations that could be used by folks in Visalia, Merced, Fresno, and along both the 99 and I-5 corridors.  Hopefully, this could add seed money for this project, help build new infrastructure, and reduce the cost of a ticket on the train as motorists are helping build revenue.  Politically, we could say that the train is also helping motorists and cleaner car travel.
